2010 Call for Contributions

The RPG = Role Playing Girl Zine is an annual publication about women in gaming. We're accepting submissions of essays by women gamers, designers, researchers and others interested in role playing games.

Our theme for 2010 is: International Update. We are reaching out to women in the United States and in the international community. We hope to have a broad cross-section of events and play experiences represented from the United States and across the globe.

Essays and articles should be between 500 and 2,500 words in length. Please submit via email in Microsoft Word or Rich Text format. Photos and illustrations are encouraged. Include high resolution (600 dpi) photos with your submission. Cartoons are also welcome!

Suggested topics include:
• Game Design and Publication
• Play groups, Campaigns and Communities of Play
• Events/Conventions you are organizing
• LARPs being produced
• Interviews with women in gaming
• Reflections on gaming

Written submissions are due by May 31st, 2010. They will be edited and returned to the author for a final revision by June 30, 2010.

Community Page listings will be included. Send us information about upcoming role playing projects and publications by women writers, designers, artists and organizers. There will be professional listings for people to advertise their creative services for designers and publishers to call upon. The submission deadline for listings is June 30, 2010.

Collaborators are also sought to help create the zine itself. If you have editing, illustration or layout design skills and would like to get involved, please contact us.

Please feel free to forward and post this listing. For more information, or to send in submissions, email emilycare at gmail dot com.
